WHERE EXACTLY ARE THE APARTMENTS? HOW FAR ARE THE APARTMENTS FROM VARENNA, FROM THE TRAIN STATION AND FROM THE FERRIES?
The apartments are in Perledo in “Contrada degli Archi 6”, less than 3km away from Varenna, from the train station and ferry terminal. Everything can easily be reached by car, taxi, bus or on foot.
HOW CAN I REACH VARENNA ON FOOT?
The most direct route brings you directly to the train station and ferry terminal in about 20 minutes along a footpath that is 100 mt from the apartment. Please note that the path is quite uphill, so the way back may take longer.
WHAT VIEW DO YOU GET FROM THE APARTMENTS?
From the apartments you can enjoy a wonderful view over the central area of Lake Como and the mountains on its western shores. In the foreground the hill of Vezio stands out with its castle, and in the background you can see the village of Menaggio where Villa Gaeta can be found – a location for the James Bond film Casino Royale.
ARE THERE ANY RESTAURANTS OR SHOPS NEARBY?
Certainly, within a 5-minute walk, you have access to a bar, a pizzeria restaurant, a bistro, and a small grocery store.
DO WE RENT THE WHOLE APARTMENT?
Yes. The whole apartment is rented to you, regardless of the number of guests indicated in your booking.
ARE SHEETS AND TOWELS PROVIDED OR DO WE NEED TO BRING OUR OWN?
The apartments are provided with sufficient sheets, blankets, towels and kitchen cloths to ensure a comfortable stay.
IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED?
Our apartments are self-catering but breakfast is NOT included. However, in the kitchen you will find at your disposal and free of charge, tea bags, herbal teas and coffee. If you wish to have breakfast at a bar, you will find the Bar Milano only 50 mts away from the apartments.
DO THE APARTMENTS HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?
Air conditioning is not necessary. The apartments are in a historical building with very thick walls providing excellent insulation both in summer and in winter. The weather is never excessively hot and during the summer you only need to keep the windows open at night to enjoy the fresh air coming down from the mountains. However fans are available.
IS HEATING INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OR IS IT CALCULATED SEPARATELY?
Heating expenses are included in the price and guests can regulate the temperature in the rooms as they like.
However, we do request a responsible use. If there is an obvious irresponsible use, there will be an extra charge.
DO THE APARTMENTS HAVE THEIR OWN FREE PARKING?
Yes. 50 metres away there is a public carpark where our guests can leave their car free of charge 24 hours a day thanks to a parking permit I will provide at the time of check in. It is not a private carpark but there are always places availible. Also, Perledo is a safe town so you can leave your car there and not worry even though the carpark is not supervised.
IS FREE WIFI ACCESS AVAILABLE?
Of course, each apartment has access to free high-speed WIFI.
DO THE APARTMENTS HAVE COTS AND HIGH CHAIRS?
Yes. You will find cots and high chairs to make your children’s holiday more comfortable. However, please indicate any specific requirements when making your reservation.
WHEN I ARRIVAL WILL I HAVE TO PAY A TOURIST TAX?
Yes, since January 2023 the local tourist tax is 2 Euro per person per day for a maximum of 5 nights stay (children under 12 years old excluded).
ARE PETS ALLOWED IN THE APARTMENTS?
No pets are allowed in the apartments, even if they are very small.
